The plan..

So..  what are we doing and why?   We are driving our defender to every county in the UK..  because why not  😉

At the end of 2014 I decided to treat myself to a Land Rover Defender.  ‘The Beast’ as he’s lovingly known is a Silver 110 XS TDI born in 2009.

After a bit of research we decided to get a roof tent to allow us to camp pretty much anywhere with minimal set up time.   We did consider getting The Beast converted into a camper but funds and practicality steered us away from that option.  So.. we got a roof rack and a Hannibal roof tent with the additional touring section (a ‘lower room’ that is created below the overhanging tent).

We also got ourselves a leisure battery and some cheap plastic boxes to store all our stuff when on the road.  This site is very much about recording where we go and how we get on with the Defender and the other items we use..  no professional reviews but some anecdotes about what we find works.. and doesn’t 🙂

The plan is basically to travel around the UK in the Defender, seeing what our beautiful country has to offer.   We camp where we can (or wuss out and stay in B&B’s when the weather is bad) and tend to not plan ahead too much.   Driving off motorway is a must and taking random looking side roads because they look ‘interesting’ is recommended.   The Map page you’ll see on this site shows you which counties we’ve already been to and the various posts and galleries will tell you more.

Enjoy!!
